Merry Monday!

Merry Monday TeamStars!

“Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!” (Anne Frank)

Did you know?

South Africa is filled with good news. We are all filled with great stories. We just don’t share them enough. So let’s be the ones who share the good stuff. Let’s be South African ambassadors and promoters in everything we do. Let’s be the change that Ghandi speaks of, and become catalysts of positivity.

Recently, Steaurt Pennington shared that we’ve improved in some key areas, according to the 2011 Global Competitiveness report. Our government debt is better, our brain drain is on the  mend,  organised crime is being addressed and our availability of scientists and engineers is improved.

On the topic of science and advancements, South Africa received some really good news on Friday. We have won the bid to host the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) radio telescope. Commenting on this achievement, Wits said "This is a major scientific coup for South Africa and will serve as a key research advantage to the entire scientific community. We believe that the SKA will be the most powerful major radio astronomy programme in the 21st Century. This attainment will open up new opportunities for South African scientists, to collaborate with some of the best scientists in Australia (co-hosts of the SKA) and the world. This is indeed a proud day for our country." (SA - the Good News via SAPA)

There are good pieces of news coming out of our country every day. This SKA news is huge, it shows that there is great confidence in our country and our future. It means the development of our infrastructure. And it means the upskilling of our people. Let’s share stories like this. Let’s positively shape the future of people and organisations through our performance impact and through the people we are.

Have a wonderful week.

Cheers,
Joanne Sharpe
