I’m so touched by our Performance Agency’s continued
dreams to make a difference. Each time I meet with one of our leaders there is
talk of what more we can do to uplift communities, provide opportunities for
people and create the space for development and growth. It’s inspiring beyond
words (and as you all know, I’m full of words!)
For those of us that don’t know (and as a reminder to
those that do J), we’re currently
involved in numerous awesome initiatives. We helped The Good Work Foundation
set up a digital literacy centre in Londolozi in the past and we continue to
support this wonderful facility. We have also assisted the same team with
learning content for their newly launched learning centre in Hazyview. We’re
involved in providing learning material to the Maharishi Institute which
educates previously disadvantaged people in an affordable way. Then, more
recently, we’ve been connecting with The Smiling One Foundation which is doing
amazing work in the prisons, really allowing inmates to have a second chance at
life.
Beyond these formal platforms we gave blankets in
winter to street children for Youth Day and celebrated with special ‘vintage’
ladies on Women’s Day – bringing joy and laughter into their spaces. As we all
know, there is so much need. Today, as I reflect on the months that have
passed and the passionate conversations that continue to grow, I am more
energized than ever to be involved in making a difference and I feel so
privileged to work in an environment that follows the vision ‘to positively
shape the future of people and organisations.’ WOW!
My question to you today is – how are you living out
this dream? We all have a unique and special difference to make. Let’s go!
